Your Share Certificate questions, answered.

Learn how Share Certificates work, how much you need to get started, and how they can help you earn more on your savings.

What is a Share Certificate?
A share certificate is a savings account where you agree to leave your money on deposit for a set period anywhere from three months to five years. In return, you get a locked-in dividend rate that's typically higher than a standard savings account. Think of it as a commitment with a reward.
How much money do I need to open a Share Certificate?
You can open an Arise Share Certificate with a minimum deposit of $500, making it an accessible way to grow your savings with a guaranteed rate.
Can I withdraw money before my Share Certificate matures?
Yes, but an early withdrawal penalty may apply. If you think you'll need access to your funds before the certificate matures, our team can help you choose the right savings solution.
How long are Share Certificate terms?
Arise Share Certificates are available in terms ranging from three months to five years. This flexibility allows you to choose a term that aligns with your savings goals and timeline.
Are Share Certificates a safe investment?
Yes. Share Certificates offer a fixed rate of return and are federally insured by the NCUA up to applicable limits. Eligible Massachusetts members also receive additional coverage through the Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC) for balances above NCUA insurance limits.
Can I open a certificate online?
Yes. You can open a Share Certificate online or visit any Arise branch for personalized assistance from our team.
Why choose a Share Certificate instead of a savings account?
A Share Certificate may offer higher dividend rates than a traditional savings account in exchange for keeping your money on deposit for a fixed term. It's a great option for funds you won't need immediate access to and want to grow with a guaranteed return.
